I’ve been using Walgreens Pharmacy for years and years and started using the Walgreens App since its release, the transition just made the most sense. It’s easier for me because walking into the store with my tot makes that 20-40min wait for a prescription last an eternity. If you have toddlers, you understand.
It’s also a little embarrassing for me to refill my prescriptions at the counter. I can’t be the only person who has stood there with a slight hesitancy upon blurting out your prescriptions while strangers are surrounding you waiting for you to hurry up. I think I about died once having to have a discussion on the size of needles I had to use.
When Walgreens came out with the easy Scan for refills on their App, I was so happy. No more standing in line, no more having to push through the auto messages on the phone and no more trying to figure out how to pronounce the prescription that seems to have no vowels in it.
Scan the barcode, pick the time, viola! Simplicity at its best. You can see how to use the Walgreens App for Refills on my Google+ Story!
I have a few prescriptions that I have to refill consistently, two of which kind of keep me sticking around these parts. With a double whammy of Hypothyroidism and Pernicious Anemia, my medicine is important to keep me #HappyHealthy. Unfortunately with these two very fun disorders, I have problems remembering things that seem very simple to remember.
I can’t explain to you how happy I was when Walgreens created their App and made it available for Android users. Since I have to take my medicine every day and I always have my phone on me, it is really easy to see that I’m running low and SCAN instead of getting caught up in my day and forget I need to stop by a Walgreens or call them in. I always say, “I’ll make that call later, I’ll go over there later” and forget to remember to do that.
It’s also nice that Walgreens realizes that we have families and sometimes we refill prescriptions for other people, like our kids or spouses. The App gives you the option to refill for your other family members as well and that has really been a benefit for my family, especially with a husband who works nights.
And just one more thing.
Have you ever forgotten your Balance Rewards Card when heading over to Walgreens by chance?
Welcome to the digital age! If you have your Balance Rewards Card connected to your Walgreens Account via phone or online, then it is ON YOUR PHONE! Tada!
I always lose my card in my purse.
Not everyone has my hiccups in life that make the Walgreens App the best possible choice for me, but we can all use a little bit of ease now and again. When something comes along that makes things easier, saves you time and a little bit of sanity… what’s not to love?
