Two weeks from tomorrow is my big MuckRuckus run! In case you are wondering how my training is going- it isn’t! Last weekend we went for a run and I could barely walk! My knees hurt so bad. I have no idea why because we hadn’t even been running the days before this. My guess is the trampoline my son just got is what was causing my pain. He was having me jump with him daily and it would make my knees hurt, so I’m guessing that is what caused it.
I’ve taken this whole week plus last weekend off running and even jumping on the trampoline. My knees seem fine now. I haven’t tried anything strenuous yet though. I used to walk everyday too but haven’t been doing that lately either. I’m hoping that by resting this week I can heal. My son is in a parade tomorrow and the parents walk alongside the float so that will be my first test. If that goes well hopefully by Monday I can go for a small run. It bums me out because I had all these future plans for running and I can’t even walk right now!
I’m not going to let it stop me though! I’ve raised some money for this and it’s for a great cause and I really want to do this! The course is 5 miles and I know I can at least walk it if necessary. If I have to I will take off running/walking until race day, of course I probably won’t be able to walk after that!
I plan on getting some new shoes to see if that helps as well, hopefully lessen the impact on my knees! If anyone has any tips for a speedy recovery let me know!
