~I received Secrets to Ruling School #2 Class Election for the purpose of reviewing. Opinions and stories are my own.~
Middle school expert Max Corrigan is back in the second book of the hilarious middle-grade series, Secrets to Ruling School, and he wants YOU to run for class president. Class Election by comic artist Neil Swaab is the perfect read in advance of the 2016 elections and ideal for budding republicans, democrats, and independents everywhere.
The competition is fierce, but luckily, you’ve got a killer campaign manager on your side. With Max’s help, you’ll conquer all the steps of running for office and winning votes, including advertisements, endorsements, campaign speeches, and more. Along the way, you’ll learn more essential skills for thriving in middle school, including making a viral video, trading your lunch in the school cafeteria, and putting a positive spin on any situation.
Half chapter book, half comic drawings this book challenges the reader to step and run for school president. Max is there to teach you every step of the way from making a campaign video to handling a debate. This book is funny, about something kids will actually want to read and up-to-date with the social media and trends kids know today. Especially great for reluctant readers and kids that like a little bit “more” with their chapter books. I did not read the first book in the series but I never felt lost. I did enjoy this one so much I will go back and read the first one now. Normally I am strict about reading books in order. This is one series worth checking out!
