“The Summer Infant Baby Touch is small in size and sleek in design, it is the first-ever touch screen video monitor. With a generous 3.5″ touch screen LCD panel, parents can interact and keep an eye on baby using the same smart phone technology available today. A simple touch of the screen gives parents the ability to adjust the brightness, pan/scan and zoom. The super quiet camera can be remotely activated so parents can reposition their viewing angle to see baby at all times – even in the dark.”
Getting a good nights sleep hasn’t been something that I could say was actually happening since my two month old little darling was born. I have been using the Summer Infant BabyTouch Digital Video Monitor for two weeks now and I don’t know how I would take breaks or sleep at night with out it! The quality of this product is just outstanding. My husband and three other kids are just amazed at how well this baby monitor works. The picture quality is perfect and the touch screen is wonderful; it’s just like I am watching my little girl on my iPhone. I have been sleeping so wonderfully at night. I do wake up but all I have to do is look over at my night stand which is right next to me to know she’s okay.
The camera can either be placed on a table top or you can mount it to the wall. I currently have ours sitting on top of her dresser at the end of her bed which provides me with a perfect view of her. The camera has a battery pack with an AC adapter so I don’t have to worry about changing any batteries, or if my camera is going to go dead on me in the middle of the night. I love that the monitor has a recharge base that I can keep plugged in at night on my nightstand as well!
When it comes to naps during the day I can take the monitor anywhere with me. It has a battery life indicator on the top left corner so you know if you need to plug it in or not.
This is a picture of our BabyTouch Digital Video Monitor during the day. The color is brilliant and the navigation of the touch screen is easy to use and work with. The camera movement can just about move anywhere in her room for me to look over and zooming in if I need to.
This picture was taken at night to show you that the night vision on the BabyTouch Camera is amazing. I can see everything so clearly; almost like it is in color. There is no camera to monitor lag, so when I am looking through the monitor it is live time. A concern of mine that was easily taken out of my mind once I plugged it in and watched the video.
I wanted to put a video together showing you how easy it is to navigate as well as show the clearness of picture and sound coming through. The zoom in and out is a nice feature as well, and it is not all distorted when you do zoom in. The touch screen is not super sensitive or difficult to press when you are moving the camera up/down or side to side.
- 3.5″ color video display
- Digital technology, pan, scan and zoom
- 2-way talk back feature
- Docking station for easy charging, battery indicator on screen tells you how much battery life the parent’s unit has left
- Up to 400′ range
When turning on your BabyTouch Digital Video Monitor for the first time, hold down the power button for 4 seconds. It will show you the power up screen and once the bar has reached the end you can lift your finger off of the button and your monitor will remain on. This will be the same process for turning off your monitor as well. One other thing I need to mention is that if your monitor is not on the charging base then the screen turns off to save power. Everything is functioning, your system is not off, you can still hear everything and the sound bar still lights up. All you have to do to check in on your little one is press the video on/off button located on the top of the monitor.

I haven’t even told you about my favorite feature yet, the two way talk! I just love that I can hit the talk back button and my daughter can then be comforted by my voice. There have been many of times that I have heard my baby working up a big cry and just by her hearing my voice comforted her and she was able to calm down again. Having her feel like mommy is right with her gives her that security that she sometimes needs.
If she happens to wake up the volume on the monitor comes in crystal clear and also has a color gage on the left side of the screen so that I not only can hear her but I can also see the color change from green to red depending on how loud she gets. I find this very helpful when she is taking a nap and I may be doing dishes, the light indicator really grabs my attention just in case the noise of the running water blocks out the volume.
You also have the ability to use the USB A/V jack to hook to your TV and watch baby on your television. So if you happen to be downstairs working out (like I do) just plug in your monitor to the t.v. so you can feel comfortable about being away from the baby. There’s nothing like a “Guilt Free” workout for mommy or not having that “HURRY HURRY HURRY” panic feeling when your out of ears reach for too long.
One more thing that I am super excited about is that I can purchase another camera for my son’s room! My 6 year old boy has health issues that always need constant attention and can not wait on being addressed. He does require a ventilator and O2 at night that need to be monitored. Adding another camera is easy and I can sync it directly to my moniotor. Having a watchful eye on both of my children brings great comfort to me and my husband. You can see how this is demonstrated in their Demo video.
