~Review made possible by Smart Bottoms~
When it comes to using cloth diapers the easiest switch you can possibly make would be cloth swim diapers. One reusable swim diaper is around the same price as a pack of disposable swim diapers. The cloth ones are always cuter and usually have a nice fit around the legs and waist to keep in all the poo. This is important because keeping poo in the diaper is the key to a nice clean swimming environment. I have actually bought and used disposable swim diapers so I have tried both. Once I tried a cloth swim diaper I realized how practical it was to buy them instead. The pool where Lil Sis takes swim lessons even requires a reusable swim diaper since the disposable ones are very loose around the waist and poo can literally come right out the top and into the pool…which is what I call a code brown….which means the pool has to be shut down till things are cleaned up.
I recently got to test out the new swim diaper with side snaps from Smart Bottoms. It arrived cute as ever in the girl print.
It is thin because swim diapers are meant to let the urine go out into the pool (it is sterile but still gross to think about) and to hold in the poo.
I have used a lot of swim diapers on my daughters over the years but what I absolutely love about this one is the adjustable side snaps on the side making this diaper last longer because it grows with baby.
Here it is snapped in the biggest and smallest setting.
Lil Sis is 19 months old in this picture and around 22 pounds and she is on the largest setting. This is the size Medium. She really needs a large.
Here it is on a small doll that we own on the smallest setting. I would say this diaper could go from 8-20 pounds.
Overall it really is a great swim diaper. I have not seen too many adjustable swim diapers on the market and none designed quite like this one.
Make sure that when you are using cloth swim diapers to always own at least 2. That way if one is wet or poo-d in then you have a nice clean one to use. I wash mine with my regular cloth diapers and then line dry. If you don’t use cloth diapers then just wash it on cold with your regular detergent and line dry.
Never fear moms of boys as they have a cute print for your little guys as well!
Happy swimming this summer!
Purchase: You can purchased the Smart Bottoms side snapping swim diaper for $15.00.
