~I received Snappsy the Alligator for the purpose of reviewing. Opinions and stories are my own.~
I live in Florida and went to The University of Florida (Gators) so I have a love of things with alligators on/in them and that includes children’s books. Snappsy the Alligator (Did Not Ask to Be in This Book) written by Julie Falatko and illustrated by Tim Miller is sure to keep your kids laughing all summer long.
Snappsy the alligator is having a normal day when a pesky narrator steps in to spice up the story. Is Snappsy reading a book … or is he making CRAFTY plans? Is Snappsy on his way to the grocery store … or is he PROWLING the forest for defenseless birds and fuzzy bunnies? Is Snappsy innocently shopping for a party … or is he OBSESSED with snack foods that start with the letter P? What’s the truth?
Snappsy is just an ordinary alligator going about his day when all of a sudden his every move is narrated and Snappsy does not like it one bit! The narrator only describes what he is seeing and has no insight into Snappsy. The narrator says Snappsy eats cute forest creatures but Snappsy actually shops at the grocery store like everyone else! Read this book to see what hilarious misinformation ensues and see how it all plays out. Fun illustrations accompany this story which is not your traditional picture book. Another book I truly don’t mind reading over and over again.
