My family loves this time of year! Neighborhoods lit up with Christmas lights, cookies baking, and Christmas music playing in every store. We wanted to try something new, add in a little winter fun with our day. I’ve heard of kids writing letters to Santa requesting an Elf to visit their house, so on Thanksgiving night we decided to give it a try! I told my kids not to get their hopes up, but said we’d try it out.
We wrote Santa asking him to send an Elf to our house. I’ve been told that crackers and water help lure the Elves in so we made sure to leave some out “just in case”.
The next morning my kids were so happy to see an Elf sitting by the TV. Our Elf’s name is Taffy and she came with a letter from Santa! The letter instructed us to sprinkle the special North Pole snowflakes that came with the letter on Taffy each night to bring the magic and elfcapades to life!
Each night we have faithfully sprinkled our elf with snow and left out fresh water and crackers. My kids wake up eager each morning to see what their elf may have been up to each night.
Our sweet little Elf Taffy has been quite busy at night! So far we have found her-
- cruising our house with Barbie
- climbing up the Christmas tree
- stuck in the pantry looking for a snack
- hanging out in my daughter’s picnic basket
- messing up the freezer for a Popsicle
We are so excited to see what else Taffy is up to over the next few weeks while she is here. Santa’s letter did explain that Taffy must return Christmas Eve, but in the mean time we will sure enjoy our time with her!
I will update you with more Elfcapades as the time goes by so be sure to check back who knows what Taffy will do next or where she’ll end up!
