~I received games from Super Duper Inc. for review. Opinions and stories are my own.~
Super Duper Inc. is one of my favorite shops online for educational games for my son. I believe in them so much that I’ve donated games to his Early Education class so everyone can benefit from them! So it should be no surprise that they would be one of my TOP stores for gifts this season for children, especially those with special needs. Their games are not only for teaching, but they are so much fun!
There are two games that our son has been playing for weeks now, Photo Fish and Word Joggers for Categories. He has played these games with everyone that comes into the house from his Parents as Teachers assistant to his cousins on Thanksgiving. He has always loved doing things with categories, especially his favorite “Transportation” and that is exactly what these two games specialize in.
Word Joggers for Categories is a Bingo style game with multiple ways to play from easy to difficult, or Pre-K through 5th Grade. There are 6 common categories (Home, Food, School, Transportation, Clothing and Animals) with 15 boards to match. Each set of cards are not only separated by categories but also by difficulty (Vocabulary Picture Cards, Attributes Cards or Category Cards).
There are so many different ways to play that I can’t begin to outline them here. You are more than welcome to look at each of the different Game Objectives and how they can benefit your child by visiting the game page.
Word Joggers also teaches my son good sportsmanship in games. He has to learn that other people can also win Bingo, but everyone has a chance to win. Along with that, it has given him the ability to think ahead, which I haven’t seen on previous games! To be capable of noticing what he needs to win a game allows him to figure out an objective without picture clues or assistance! It’s really great to see how these games help him improve.
You may have seen Photo Fish being played recently with Judah and his Elf. This is the #1 game kids love to play and the one Judah brings out when anyone is over to play with him. He absolutely LOVES going fishing! I think it’s really cute that they put the whole game into a tackle box.
Classifying Photo Fish has the same concept with common categories (Home, Food, Clothing, School, Transportation and Animals) as well as multiple ways to play. Judah just loves to toss all 55 Fish into the pond and then fish for the 5 specific Category Fish. Each fish has a magnetic strip on the back that can connect with the strip on the little fishing poles, so it is a lot like real fishing! If Categories are too simple for your child, there are others available.
- K Photo Fish (helps with S, R, L and Blend sounds for Language)
- Rhyme Time Picture Fish
- T/D/N Photo Fish Add-on Set (P, B, M & T, D, N sound sets for Language)
Plus you can get extra ponds and fishing poles, which personally I think would be great for a party!
There are multiple games, tools, stocking stuffers and even Gift Cards available at Super Duper Inc. for the Holidays! You can even save 15% by using the Discount Code: DCCVAPS4 until December 20th AND all shipping orders are free over $20 to US & CAN! I cannot stress how much these games have benefited my son. There is no greater gift than seeing your child love to learn and be able to express themselves through play.
