~I received Claudia & Moth for the purpose of reviewing. Opinions and stories are my own.~
The seasons are changing (even here in Florida in our own way) and with it you can read books with a change in the season as well. Claudia & Moth is a sweet book about a girl and her love for butterflies but she is sad there are no butterflies in winter. She instead finds the beauty in a wonderful moth!
A small girl with a passion for nature turns to her new passion for art as the seasons turn colder.
Claudia loves butterflies. Blue ones. Yellow ones. Purple ones with dots. And since she can’t take them home, she paints them in all their beautiful colors.
But when winter comes, there are no more butterflies to paint…until she finds a little moth. Suddenly, Claudia sees winter in a whole new light.
Jennifer Hansen ran her own design firm for many years before returning to her first love: oil painting. She lives in Bucks County, Pennsylvania with her family. She (usually) gets a kick out of her own children pushing for “just one more” until the occasional crash! boom! bang! and the realization that she has let them express a little too much independence!
This book is for ages 4-6 but both my 6 and 9 year old daughters love me to read it to them. It is filled with gorgeous oil paint illustrations and includes a heartwarming story of a girl who discovers the beauty of a white wintertime. A perfect book to read as we transition to winter.
