~I received the books: An Alphabet & A Little Stuck for the purpose of reviewing. Opinions and stories are my own.~
With a new baby on the way I am excited to build up our family board book collection for her. I love how sturdy they are for babies and toddlers to enjoy. An Alphabet & A Little Stuck by Oliver Jeffers are two new books that I already love and I can’t wait to read them to my baby girl when she arrives.
The perfect introduction to both the alphabet and to the world of Oliver Jeffers! This clever and funny board book from the #1 bestselling illustrator of The Day the Crayons Quit and creator of Stuck gives center stage to Oliver Jeffers’ whimsical illustrations as it helps parents and toddlers connect through learning and art. A must-have.
When Floyd’s kite gets stuck in a tree, he’s determined to get it out. But how? Well, by knocking it down with his shoe, of course. But strangely enough, it too gets stuck. And the only logical course of action . . . is to throw his other shoe. Only now it’s stuck! Surely there must be something he can use to get his kite unstuck. An orangutan? A boat? His front door? Yes, yes, and yes. And that’s only the beginning. Stuck is Oliver Jeffers’ most absurdly funny story since The Incredible Book-Eating Boy. Childlike in concept and vibrantly illustrated as only Oliver Jeffers could, here is a picture book worth rescuing from any tree.
Alphabet board books are a staple in any baby’s room and this one is cuter than most. The letters are big, the illustrations are fun and the words are not your typical words such as “Seagull” for S. I won’t be getting board reading this one over and over again! A Little Stuck is cute because the boy keeps tossing more stuff in the tree hoping to get his kite out but everything juts gets stuck! Of course Big Sis and Lil Sis are already fighting to read these to the baby so we will be reading them long before she gets here…the reading will just be directed to my belly. These are super cute board books I am happy to add to our collection.
