Can you believe that Tonka is celebrating it’s 65th Anniversary? It’s really astounding how far they have come from the simple idea of three men into a powerhouse of trucks, games, toys and even BBQ Grills! It all kind of started with their most famous trucks, the completely indestructible “Steel” line of construction vehicles that were backed by a Lifetime Replacement Guarantee. These are the Tonka Classics.

These trucks last forever and are generally passed down from older family members to the young. I know that my nephew has the Dumptruck that his father owned and my Mother has a truck that was my brothers that the grand-kids use. I’m sure all across the world these trucks are being pushed by little kids, trucks that were passed through the generations for decades.
I was really excited to have the opportunity to review one of these amazing indestructible trucks that have been re-released from Funrise for Tonka’s Anniversary! My son, being the obsessive collector of all things with wheels, didn’t actually have a Bulldozer. I felt that a child that is seriously into construction should have his own, so that was the one we picked. Bulldozers are pretty amazing pieces of equipment! They build our roads, help create our homes, schools, driveways and shopping centers. They’re large pushing machines that lead the way for the others to do their jobs.
My son is really proud of his Tonka Toughs Steel Bulldozer.
I love how the Classic Tonka Trucks are built. They’re steel, but not extremely heavy, they can take a lot of damage pushing rocks and being tossed around and still wind up on their wheels. They were certainly built with rowdy boys in mind.
The Bulldozers blade actually moves. You can adjust it down to push away rocks, dirt, etc. or move it up to be able to push it smoothly. The drivers cage actually works as a handle to carry the Bulldozer and/or to push it.
The caterpillar treads rotate the wheels, so it actually moves as a Bulldozer would. They stay on pretty well, on many surfaces, and can adjust or come off if you need to clean them.
