I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for T3 Source. I received a product sample to facilitate my review and as a thank you for participating.
When we purchased our house a few years ago we were the second family to have ever lived in the house. We knew our bathroom was a little renovated many years ago for the older couple and had a grab bar and a very old handheld showerhead. My husband and I had talked for a long time about updating the bathroom, but aside from repainting it (since it was bright neon yellow), we hadn’t gotten very far. Although, our tot did a little revamping of his own.
I noticed after the first few months a slight pinkish tint left over after baths and showers. As we had moved here from a town that had their own water supply, I wasn’t sure if it was normal or not. Eventually I got around to looking it up and what I found out was not at all appealing. Apparently those pinkish or red tinted rings you see after awhile are a collection of rust and bacteria known as Serratia marcescens. It grows in moist areas where phosphorous containing materials accumulate and is typically harmless, but just… not anything I want to think about going into our hair.
However, to kill bacteria in the water, almost all U.S. cities use a type of chlorination process. Here in St. Louis the water is chloraminated rather than chlorinated, this is a mix of chlorine and ammonia, so people with certain health issues or breweries, etc. have to have special filters to remove the chemicals from the water. There are even places that charge you monthly to filter your water. After I got into reading all these things about our water, I wasn’t sure exactly where to even start. Then I was introduced to the T3 Source Shower Filter, specifically the Showerhead, through Mom Central!
Through a chemical filtration process known as “Redox,” the T3 Source Shower Filters transform chlorine into harmless elements that are too large to be absorbed by hair and skin. This patented filtration process removes more chlorine than other similar filters for amazing clinical results.
I already have issues with slight hair loss due to my thyroid and anemia issues, the last thing I wanted to know was that there was all these chemicals and bacteria floating around in my water. I was ready to stop thinking about what was going into my hair and do something about it.
Installing the T3 Source Showerhead is really simple. You remove your old showerhead and to ensure there are no leaks, you wrap a thin line of tape around the grooves that’s provided with the package.
Then you simply screw the T3 Source Showerhead into place. It comes as a full piece, but you can twist it to remove and replace the filter.
There are many great health benefits to the Redox chemical filtration process. Here is how it works!
You can also watch this short video that will help you with your installation process. You can see how incredibly simple it is to replace your old showerhead. If you have a showerhead that you really love and prefer though, not to worry! There is a T3 Source Filter called the In-Line that allows you to have the filtration with your preferred showerhead.
Some of my personal favorite features of the T3 Source Showerhead (aside from the health benefits) is the design and sophistication. It is the most stunning showerhead I’ve personally ever seen and really makes me want to finish up our remodel! The tiny details, like the purple jewel and the eight different shower settings are wonderful! My personal favorite is the Fine, whereas my husband loves the Massage.

It also comes with a little removable sticker that you can put on your mirror with the date to change your T3 Source Filter. This is really helpful if you are kind of forgetful like me!
I certainly feel much better taking a shower, knowing the water is coming through pure. My hair feels a lot smoother and less frizzier than it had a few weeks ago before I began testing AND there hasn’t been any pink matter on the ring of my tub. I know it doesn’t specifically say that it removes that bacteria, but I haven’t seen any so I take that as a great sign!
For how small it seems, it has made a huge impact in our bathroom – in design and in skin & hair health. It is a small step towards making our bathroom into what we hope it will be, with or without all the bathtub crayon drawings. It is just nice to know that even if the city needs to use a chlorinated or a chloraminated process to make sure harmful bacteria doesn’t form in the water supply, that at least you can re-clean your water before it reaches you and keep your body as healthy as it can be.
Purchase: There are 3 designs with different pricing for the T3 Source Shower Filter, you can find out the price and difference by visiting the links above.
