~I’m a Fox Home Entertainment Insider. I received a copy of The Longest Ride for review. Opinions and stories are my own.~
Summer is in full bloom and with it comes one of the greatest Nicholas Sparks films to Blu-ray/DVD, The Longest Ride. It features one of my favorite newest actresses Britt Robertson (The Dome) and country’s heartthrob Scott Eastwood. The Longest Ride is based off the bestselling Nicholas Sparks novel of the same name and centers on a star-crossed love affair between Luke, a retired bull riding champion, and Sophia, a college art student about to take on her dream job in New York City.
Like most of Nicholas Sparks novels/films, their love story entwines with that of an older love affair and sahres the story of Ira and Ruth and the unique circumstances that brought them together. The film’s ultimate question of the viewer being, What would you do for the love of your life?, and explores the challenges that face two people whose lives and ideals conflict with their hearts.
Tomorrow I have my summer date night planned with the hubby to watch The Longest Ride and sob into a bucket of popcorn (most likely). I remember when my husband and I met we were both on different roads in different places in our own lives and risked it all for our hearts. This past Monday was our 7th anniversary and I can’t wait to snuggle up and see what happens with Luke and Sophia!
Since we are about to have our Summer Date Night, I wanted to share some pointers inspired by the film on how to pull off a wonderful date night with the love of your life. All you have to do is not to give up and fall asleep! We all know that happens way too often in marriages!
Maybe you could share some of your favorite tips below! Personally, I am going to whip up some spicy curry in the kitchen and make super S’Mores; then pour a gallon of butter on some popcorn and snuggle.
