I’ve been a T-Mobile customer for over 15 years. They were my first and only carrier of every cellphone/smartphone I’ve ever had. We’ve been through a lot of amazing and difficult years; but now we’re getting to the simpler ones. You know, those years when things kind of find their balance and you start shaving off the extra things you don’t need. So, I decided to try out switching to T-Mobile’s Simply Prepaid™ and picked up a pretty amazing Samsung Galaxy Avant to get me started.
The nice thing about switching over to a Simply Prepaid™ plan is that you can do it all by yourself in your own time. You take a little trip over to Walmart and find the pretty pink boxes in the Electronic’s section of your store. You can see the specs for the Samsung Galaxy Avant on the phone display as well as read about different plans available. Plans start at $40/month for talk, text and data with your choice of high-speed data amount on the 4G LTE Network.
I picked up the phone with a refill card and went home. I was able to set everything up in no time at all! For the phone, all you have to do is insert your SIM Card and Battery. There’s a spot for a MicroSD Memory Card if you are looking to add extra space for media (music, movies, etc.), but it isn’t necessary. The Samsung Galaxy Avant has plenty of Internal/External (SIM) memory on its own.
For your plan, you have 2 choices. You can call T-Mobile by dialing 611 with your phone OR you can just go online to their Activation port. Don’t worry! If you get confused about anything they have LIVE Customer Service to help walk you through it.
I chose the $40/month Unlmited Data, Talk & Text plan. This helped me save a lot on my bill and I can keep up with the long (sometimes overdue) conversations I have with family members!
4G LTE Data provides reliable fast speeds of up to 8Mps. If you are worried about your high-speed data usage, just switch over to Wifi while you are at home. When you do get close to your max speed usage, T-Mobile alerts you and gives you the option to increase your data; so it is always available. I do a lot of streaming at home when I’m cleaning or working out!
Mostly though, I just like to read. I read the morning news with my coffee, I keep up on Facebook and email like everyone else. Being on the Android Network, the Samsung Galaxy Avant does come with the amazing plethora of Apps in the Play Store, but mostly I stick with Flipboard to keep me updated on events, keep up with the blog on my WordPress App and listen to 80s music!
When you get to where I am, you realize that spending a whole lot of money on a phone plan, being locked into contracts or having to settle for less than amicable speed is not worth it. Your phone connects you to the things that are not there and those things (long distance friends, family and reliable 80s music streaming) shouldn’t be complicated.
Introducing Simply Prepaid™ from T-Mobile, a plan from a carrier you can count on. We’re changing everything you know about wireless. Now it’s time to change prepaid.
