From the award-winning series, COUGAR CUB TALES: The Sneezy Wheezy Day continues the adventures of the cougar cub brother and sister as they venture into the world to play. When one of the cubs becomes ill, they decide to seek their well-intentioned friends for treatments and remedies for brother cougar’s ailment. One friend even tells the cub, “Tickle your nose with the tail of a goose and do it before the next blue moon rise!”. Although the recommendations are sincere, the final remedy is a sibling’s love. The rhyming verse is captivating, not just for the child, but for the adult reader, and it is illustrated with incredibly vivid watercolors. It is a heartwarming story about negotiating childhood illness, but in a hilarious and lighthearted way. Make sure your child searches for the small additional creature on each page!
This book couldn’t have come at a better time. So far this month my whole family has been sick twice! We really enjoyed reading The Sneezy Wheezy Day snuggled under a blanket while we were trying to feel better. We all enjoyed this book. It was cute hearing all the other animals ideas on how to make the cougar cub feel better, my kids favorite was when he was told he had too much hair and he needed a hair cut. The best part was knowing that the sister cub made him feel better with a little extra love. We all know when we are sick that a little extra love and care goes a long way.
Written by nurse and mom of three, Sharon Cramer, The Sneezy Wheezy Day, is the third installment of the Cougar Cub Tales – an award winning children’s picture book series that follows the adventures of a brother and sister cougar cub. Cramer wrote the first book in the series, Lost and Alone about sibling rivalry, when her youngest son was born 18 years ago. As a mom to two older sons at the time, Cramer says she felt like an expert on “brotherly love” already. The second installment in the series, I’m Just Like You addresses intolerance. Cramer illustrates the Cougar Cub Tales books in watercolor, with each picture taking her between 18-24 hours to create. She chose cougar cubs because she wanted to create characters that spoke strongly of the Pacific Northwest , where she lives.SHARON CRAMER is a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist and avid competitive equestrian. She is also the author of, soon to be released, Marlo and the Monster, and is working on a new young adult series called The Cerulean Star. She lives in Spokane, WA.
The Sneezy Wheezy Day is a great book to add to your collection, especially now in the peak of cold and flu season! Don’t worry, being sick is not a requirement to enjoy this book! It is a really cute book! Grab your favorite kids and a warm blanket and enjoy the silly ideas the animals come up with! Also look for the extra critters on each page, my son really enjoyed doing that!
