Today we picked up the keys to our new house! When we first went to see it my husband had told our youngest that we had to, “Wait for the woman with the key” to get inside the house. For days Judah would say, “Woman with the keys!” So today we went back to the house after filling out the last papers and got to tell him that now the keys were ours. He clapped throughout the house and was very excited to go back there. I can’t wait to officially move in.
When setting up house insurance with State Farm, the lady working on collaborating our Auto and Home insurance together was so nice to me when I had to call in place of my husband (who has been handling all of this)! I liked her instantly because she had asked, “Do you work, have a job?” And I said the typical response that stay at home mom’s say, “No, I stay at home with my children.” And she says, “PFT! That is a job! That’s work!” YES! It is. Thank you Lavern from State Farm. I now love you. When we went to drop off papers today Billie just ran inside and I waited in the car, she told him to tell me Hello and gave Judah a road atlas (they didn’t have coloring books). State Farm is amazing.
We’ve been kind of feeling like we entered a club. Everyone is very nice, our Bank is offering us all these special programs and the Utility people are overly gracious and helpful. It’s like stepping into an alternate reality. Is this the ‘American Dream’? Perhaps. I just hope I don’t wake up anytime soon.
