On my quest to keep active and healthy I’ve pretty much stayed away from protein bars. I’ve had a few bad experiences that just ruined it for me. You know, those bars that look like candy bars and then wind up tasting like cardboard? That just wasn’t for me. What made me change my mind and try thinkThin Protein Bars was the fact that they were created by a Mom who reminded me a lot of myself. She was a single mom, had a past career in modeling and wanted to create better-for-you snacks for active people. The snacks she created were versions from her Italian Grandmother’s recipes with wholesome ingredients, stripped of sugar and gluten (and non-GMO!), she amped up the protein and made thinkThin.
The nice thing is that you wind up with some really great bars, like Salted Caramel and Honey Drizzle Peanut. Yum!
So I can promise you that they don’t taste like cardboard. This mom hit the nail on the head! My favorite bars are the ones with peanut butter and caramel because I get to feel like I’m cheating; they honestly take away my sweet tooth cravings. The bars have a chewy texture, not unlike the inside of a candy bar and you can take them with you. Having a 5 year old, it’s nice to have a thinkThin bar handy for when I just get too run down to keep going.
The important part is that they satisfy hunger cravings and boost energy. It used to be that I’d get run down halfway through the day and then I’d pile about a lb of sugar into my system to load it long enough to make it the rest of the way. I have a thyroid issue that depletes a lot of my energy and so this was how I made up the slack. As you can probably guess, that wasn’t very good for my body and it didn’t make me feel very good. These bars have replaced that boost with something good that doesn’t make me crash or give me stomach aches.
No matter your reason to get healthy or stay healthy, the important part is to be active. Take a few thinkThin bars with you in your purse, your gym bag, diaper bag or bookbag and know that you’ll have the energy to keep moving.
