I love Toy Story. LOVE. In all capitals. Toy Story redefined how every cartoon / animation came out after it’s debut in 1995. I was 15 years old when I first saw Toy Story and was in extreme awe at this new form of animation, along with the rest of the world. At the time it was the most amazing thing to ever come out in the theater, which is hard to believe nowadays when all the animations mimic Pixar to an extent, but in the early 90s – it was a miracle.
Toy Story Toons are little animations made by Pixar/Disney, which is how Toy Story originally began. Pixar used to make little shorts before actually making the larger productions, a teaser as it were before giving us the big show. They actually have a DVD of all their Pixar Shorts dating back to the mid 80s when animations like this were just unheard of. I actually purchased that DVD and was stunned, literally floored at what I saw because there was nothing – nothing – like that in my childhood and yet there it was as early as 86′!
But let’s get back to PartySaurus Rex, Toy Story’s new Toon that’s running before Finding Nemo 3D starting September 14th!
“Partysaurus Rex” features Rex (voiced by Wallace Shawn), the insecure toy T-Rex in the ‘Toy Story’ gang. Rex goes from shrinking violet to sudsy stud when Bonnie brings him into the bath! What follows can only be described as an EPIC bathtub party.
This looks so great that I think I am going to have to drag my family out to see Finding Nemo 3D in order to see it! Not that they’d really complain, but we’ve yet to take our tot to a theater. Still… that’s how much I love Toy Story!
You ready to party with Rex?
