During this time of year, the hustle and bustle of the holiday season typically doesn’t allow enough time for a day at the spa, but to keep your spirits up, a little self-pampering is necessary. Luckily, you can add in a simple product to your shower routine that will leave you feeling deliciously pampered. Yes, I do mean deliciously since the Tree Hut Shea Sugar Body Scrub smells so sweet you may be tempted to eat it.
Tree Hut is best known for having perfected the art of using Certified Organic Shea. Each Tree Hut product contains Certified Organic Shea, along with unique, indigenous ingredients that set them apart from all other products of its kind; from crushed almonds and Hawaiian Kukui nut oil, to coconut shells imported from the Polynesian Islands. Tree Hut products are never tested on animals, do not contain parabens or DM and as always, our products are produced in our own facility right here in the USA.
I had the opportunity to review the Shea Sugar Body Scrub in the Almond & Honey scent, which is made with natural almond extract and honey. As with all of the Tree Hut products, only certified organic shea butter is used. There are many benefits of Shea moisturizing dry skin, improving elasticity of skin, and reducing the appearance of stretch marks/scars. Let’s just say, this product sounds like a pregnant women’s dream and I was so excited to try it.
After receiving the product, I was surprised how many benefits outside of the Shea there were. Just check out the key ingredients:
- Certified Organic Shea Butter: skin repairing & moisturizing, anti-aging, promotes elasticity
- Sweet Almond Oil: improves complexion and retains natural sheen
- Honey: attracts and retains moisture
- Safflower Seed Oil: deep moisturizer
- Evening Primrose Oil: rejuvenating and anti-aging agent
- Avocado Oil: reduce sun damage/age spots, hydrates
- Orange Oil: supports collagen formation, detoxifying, repairs sun damaged skin
I have been using the body scrub for the last couple of weeks and I’ve noticed the most difference on my upper arms. They feel smoother and are less bumpy. I personally haven’t noticed a reduction in the appearance of my stretch marks from baby #1 yet, but I am pleased that I haven’t seen any new ones forming for baby #2. I definitely think the scrub is helping with promoting elasticity but I think adding in the body butter would assist in keeping more stretch marks at bay.
Like I mentioned before, the smell is delish, but at first it might seem overpowering. I do want to reassure you that the scent left on your skin is soft, sweet, and my no means too much. My hubby really likes the scrub because the scent does seem to linger on my skin rather than in the bathroom air like so many body washes.
Once you have done some well deserved self-pampering, don’t forget that these items would be perfect for a holiday gift or a stocking stuffer. With the variety of wonderful scents, you are bound to find one that is perfect for your loved one or you can go with a safe bet with the most popular scent, Coconut Lime.
