Udi’s Gluten Free is becoming my favorite Gluten Free (and also sometimes Nut Free) brand. I have already tried their Hot Dog & Hamburger Buns and my kids and I LOVE their pizzas! I could also talk forever about their cookies, just ask my sister. On Thanksgiving I brought over some Oatmeal Raisin, Snickerdoodle and Chocolate Chip cookies because my nephew is Gluten Free and I didn’t want him to feel left out. If you want a kid to become a little more excited about their new Gluten Free diet, just get some Udi’s Cookies. I could eat a whole box of them all by myself!
I am going to tell you about a new product from Udi’s that I literally just got to test out last night. I’ve been eyeballing the freezer shelves for weeks to see if my local Dierburgs or Schnucks would get them in and FINALLY they were there. The Udi’s French Baguettes!
That’s another thing I wanted to mention. If you are looking for Udi’s products, they are in the Freezer aisle. However, their Granola’s are either in the Bakery or the Organic aisles. Also, Udi’s also just came out with Gluten Free French & Whole Grain Dinner Rolls! A great alternative to regular dinner rolls for the upcoming big Holiday meal!
I was really excited to try the Gluten Free French Baguettes because I love French bread. I had to see what the difference was between regular French bread and Gluten Free. My favorite ways to eat French Baguette’s in particular is with soup. So last night I made some soup and baguette’s.
They take no more than 10min to warm up in the oven when frozen, less if they are at room temp. They also come out very crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, the way they should!
Another great way to enjoy French Baguette’s is with a vinegar/oil mix. If you take a few tbsp’s of a dipping olive oil and a few tsp’s of Balsamic Vinegar, you have a great dip as an appetizer. You could set it out pre-Holiday meal for a snack and it actually looks quite formal.
I couldn’t really tell a difference between the Udi’s French Baguette’s and the regular version outside of there being less salt and the centers are more soft than regular French breads. They’re the perfect size for dipping and/or spreading with butter; whichever you prefer!
Here are a few other cute ideas for yummy Holiday Gluten Free alternatives!
I think these look really cute. You could set a whole box of Dark Chocolate Brownie Bites with Strawberries on a decorative plate and they would be beautiful! They almost look like little flowers and they taste exactly like a chocolate dipped strawberry!
Or you could fill up the little Brownie Bites with the Cranberry Granola! Since the Brownie Bites are extremely soft, it gives a great texture to the bite! Plus chocolate with cranberries is really delicious.
I also thought of another great little thing you could do, but I didn’t have any on hand! You could crush up some candy canes and put them at the center and oh my goodness they would be so good!
Mix and match them on a beautiful holiday platter and I think your guests would be in heaven. Then you could completely surprise them by telling them they’re Gluten Free!
I’m going to come up with some other fun ideas, until then you can check out other Udi’s products on their website. Like them on Facebook, they’re doing a great thing for Gluten Free families! Or follow at @UdisGlutenFree on Twitter.
I received coupons to facilitate my review. Opinions are my own and/or my families and are not influenced by any form of compensation. They may be influenced by tons of Snickerdoodle cookies.
