When I think about a special dinner with my husband or a little luncheon with friends, I don’t only consider what I’m serving but also what I’m serving it on. The ambiance of a meal is just as important as what is being consumed, sometimes more so; especially on special occasions. You wouldn’t imagine delightful appetizers or little morsels of heaven on paper plates. When you think of a special dinner and/or lunch, you think of elegant dinnerware and long stemmed flutes or glasses for champagne, or my personal favorite – Mimosas.
If you are like me then you dream about having a cabinet of alluring reserved glassware to serve for brunches and special holidays. I remembered my grandmother always had such, most older generations had their China cabinets, but in these modern days we love glass. Bormioli Rocco very existence is embedded with the history of glass. It’s first glassworks were established in the 1800s and as they were considered very modern then, now they have taken those time-honored techniques and blended them with modern technology to create some very amazing pieces of art. Take the Bormioli Rocco Nettuno Dinner Plates for example. The plates were inspired by water, wood, ice and leaves. Nature had played a huge part in the movement of the glass along the edges to create the curves of the plate. It is tempered glass, thermal and shock resistant and yet elegant, ethereal.
You could almost imagine fruits and nectar, grapes and honey, resting on the plate as if it were made of water or ice. It’s very beautiful. The bowls being made from the same inspiration as well as being symbol of their mission towards social and environmental responsibility.
One of the most unique products I had reviewed from Bormioli Rocco is their Giara Bottles. They are elongated glass bottles in various hues that have stoppers on the top. I found this incredibly innovative and commendable. I’m one of those people that have issues with plastic bottles, especially plastic water bottles, so seeing something as elegant as the Giara Bottle that can be used as a table water bottle was wonderful!
They are the perfect touch to any afternoon and have many different properties. They could be used for water, wine, juice or lemonade and also be used as a vase for flowers. Or you could simply sit them out with pressed flowers and marbles for a very chic and lovely look for your dining or coffee table.
Bormioli Rocco glassware would be the absolute perfect gift for Valentine’s. To have something so elegant to serve on for friends or loved ones is not only a personal gift but one that can be shared. They are also great conversation starters. The Giari Bottles would be my favorite pick! Think delightful picnics with lemonade and fresh strawberries served from the perfect bottle, with rich cheese and organic breads. Perfect.
