I don’t think I could share enough how Walgreens has always been there for me through the years. With two health problems that cause brain fog and lapses in memory, I tend to constantly forget to refill or pick up prescriptions. Like an overprotective parent, they nudge me through calls, texts or emails to let me know when something is ready (or has been waiting for me). Since one of my prescriptions is critical to my overall health and which happens to be the one that keeps me from falling into a fog of memory loss, Walgreens has been my life saver.
There are multiple ways to get reminders through the Online Pharmacy and they are really great at keeping you updated! So much in fact that they remind you the moment you log-in! They put a bright red exclamation point next to your account to make sure you are aware that there is a notification. Whether this is a status update on your prescription, that your refill is ready to pick up or awaiting a doctor’s approval – Walgreens makes sure you know about it.
Also, if you keep track of your families prescriptions, you can also get status updates on those. I have to keep track of my son’s medications, especially his Epi-Pen. The last thing we need is to have it expire without warning!
Plus, I hate getting a prescription from the doctor and then having to wait for it to fill in-store. Having Family Prescription Management page allows me the same benefits as my personal updates. All I had to do was add them onto my account; which is very simple! You can even add your Pets!
Another option that is great for Families is the Auto Refill. If you have a prescription that is regular and comes every month without doctor’s approval, it would be a lot easier to just set it up on Auto Refill and then Walgreens can let you know to pick it up when it’s time. If a family member happens to currently use another pharmacy, you can enter in a Prescription Transfer to get them all within the Walgreens database.
So how do you get signed up for Notifications? Access your Personal Settings and choose Communication Preferences. This will give you all the Refill Reminders available:
Personal Notifications are one’s that you create yourself. In example, my son needs to get his 2nd Flu Shot after February 11th. Although I have put this on my calender, I would like Walgreens to notify me as well. So I’ve added a reminder for his Flu Shot!
You can choose how long you want the reminder to alert you as well as how many times a day! Some of us need a little extra in the ‘reminding’ department; especially if life gets a little hectic.
There is also the ability to keep track of all Immunizations through the Immunization History, which can be printed! If you are switching doctors or signing your child up for activities, school or services – many times they ask for the Immunization Record. This is a great way to keep track and to make sure you are up to date.
Something else to note is that Walgreens does offer Free Shipping on all prescriptions! This is a great option if you have a regular prescription or if a Walgreens is a little bit of a drive away. You also don’t have to worry about not being able to talk to the pharmacy if you choose this option because they have a Pharmacy Chat where you can live chat with a pharmacist about your prescriptions.
There are so many ways to manage prescriptions and refills at Walgreens Online Pharmacy, for yourself and your family. They take on the task of keeping it all together so we don’t have to worry about it or in my case, have to worry about forgetting it. Take a moment and look around the Pharmacy & Health section at Walgreens.com and see why I chose it as the best choice for my family.
